The opening is a real experience for the senses: intensive spices like cardamom and ginger literally tickle the nose and initially seem rather cool and distant. It is only after about an hour, when the spicy intensity recedes into the background, that the actual character unfolds. The transition to the soft woods is seamless and the fragrance becomes wonderfully powdery. It's only in this drydown that this pleasant, well-groomed 'wellness feeling' sets in for me, a poised and very noble calmness. Craft-wise, it is an exciting and very well-made scent, but for me personally, it lacks emotional warmth in everyday life. It remains a beautiful experience, but for me, it is not a candidate for a bottle purchase.
