Matsukita

An elegantly constructed, smoky-floral fragrance with a green-spicy opening and hints of jasmine and tea, which, however, feels very reserved, distant, and uninviting on me. Despite its noticeable quality and complex chypre structure, it resonates with me personally much less than other fragrances from the house.

Clive Christian Matsukita is superbly crafted and comes across as high-quality, elegant, and cleanly balanced. The blend of green, spicy, and slightly smoky facets conveys a luxurious vintage character with modern precision. In particular, the fine balance of spices and woods demonstrates the high quality of the raw materials used. For me, however, the fragrance causes a slight burning sensation on the lips, which is presumably triggered by certain aromatic molecules or spicy notes such as pepper, cinnamon, or aldehydic components. Such reactions can be intensified by sensitive mucous membranes or, as in my case, personal sensitivity, although the fragrance is overall of very high quality.

I find the fragrance is not for everyone. For my taste, I didn't like it that much. One of the weaker ones from Clive.
